James L. Hinman, Jr.

Funeral Director

James L. "Jimmy" Hinman, Jr. is a life-long resident of Princess Anne and attended Washington High School. He served in the Marines overseas and graduated from Stauton Military Academy. Jimmy then went on to further his education graduating from Salisbury State College and graduating from mortuary school, Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He followed in his fathers' footsteps in the business in 1980, and has been a Funeral Director for 40 years.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James L. Hinman, Jr.

Jimmy had a love for his community, and led a life of service to others, and we understand that he was a special part of the experience you have come to know with Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. Please know that we remain committed to providing the compassionate care and support you deserve. We want to assure the community that Hinman Funeral Home remains available for all your needs.

Existing pre-arrangements are held by the funeral home and Hebron Savings Bank in Princess Anne, MD and remain protected.

We will continue to operate with the care and dedication that Jimmy provided and that has been the hallmark of Hinman Funeral Home since its founding in 1958.

Cindy Hastings

Funeral Directors Assistant

Cindy Hastings grew up in Hebron where she currently resides and is a graduate of Mardela High School. She worked for over 20 years at Delmarva Oil from 1988-2008 as a Customer Service Representative and Inventory Clerk. After working with Delmarva Oil, she cared for dementia patients, which eventually led to her working at Hinman Funeral Home.

Cindy is a member of Salisbury Elks Lodge #817, & attends Nelson's Church in Hebron.

Brian Laird

Assistant

Brian Laird is a life-long resident of Princess Anne where he lives with his wife, Vickie. He is a graduate of Washington High School and has worked for Somerset County Public Schools as a bus driver for the last 47 years, and getting his own contract in 1981. He also works for himself raising chickens for Perdue and has raised chickens since he was 16. He has been an employee at Hinman Funeral Home for eight years and has been coaching Washington High School Varsity Baseball since 2004.

Very active in his community, he is the President of Princess Anne youth football, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Baseball League, and Past President of the Somerset Ruritan Club.

He is the proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of his three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
