Obituary

Winford Howard Wiles, 93, of Eden died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home.
Born in Norfolk, Va., he was a son of the late Robert Samuel Wiles and Bessie Mahaffey Wiles. His family moved to Princess Anne when he was two years old.
Winford was a man of many talents. He was a farmer, carpenter, electrician and owned his business, Peninsula Enterprises, repairing appliances, motors and radios. He also was an engineer for many years at WBOC in Salisbury.
He is survived by three children, Paul Wiles and wife, Shelly, of Eden, Howard Wiles and wife, Peggy, of Whaleysville and Danee Wiles Caulk and husband, Billy, of Federalsburg; stepchildren, Joyce Taylor Dennis and husband, Michael, of Dagsboro, Diane Taylor Koppelman and husband, Mark, of Ocean Pines, Lesley Taylor Ashley and husband, Mark, of Hebron and Cora Taylor of Eden; and loving caregiver, Heidi Johenson; his stepdaughter-in-law. Mr. Wiles leaves 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nina Fiege of Princess Anne and a brother, Thomas Wiles and his wife, Evelyn, of Princess Anne. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arvetta Hudson Wiles; three sisters, Elma Adkins, Margaret Chew and Myrtle Nuckols; one brother, Claude Wiles; one stepson, Lynn W. Taylor; and two grandsons, Micheal Allen Dennis Jr. and James Allen Snyder.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Allen United Methodist Cemetery in Allen. The Rev. James DeVaughn will officiate.
