Willis "Nevitte" Parks, 89 years old, of Rumbley, passed away in his home on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was the son of the late Willis Edward and Beulah Meredith Parks, also of Rumbley.
After 47 years of marriage, he is preceded in death by Lena Gertrude Meredith Parks.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Diane Lusk (Frank) of Rumbley, Carolyn Olsen (Roger) of Westover and Donnie Meredith of Pocomoke City; 4 granddaughters, Christa Taylor (Wade) of Pocomoke City, Sheri Olsen of Westover, Wendy Sturgis (Scott) of Mt. Vernon and Kelly Logan (Jeff) of Princess Anne; 6 great grandchildren, Justin Kelly (Alexa) of Princess Anne, Ashley Lane (Kevin) of Parsonsburg, Ethan Taylor (Molly) of Ohio, Meredith Taylor of Pocomoke City, Zachary Sturgis and Natalie Sturgis of Mt. Vernon and 3 great, great grandchildren, Karson Lane, Paisley Kelly and Mason Kelly. Additionally, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Nevitte served his country proudly for 3 years in the Army and worked the waters of the Chesapeake Bay oystering and crabbing for his entire life. He was an inductee into the Waterman's Hall of Fame and a founding member of the Fairmount Cemetery Committee. He was also a lifetime member of the former Christ United Methodist Church in Upper Fairmount and served on multiple committees and as president of the church's Men's organization.
The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate his life.
