Tyaskin—Robert "Sparky" Somers, Sr., 82, formerly of Princess Anne, Died at home June 16, 2011. Born Oct. 22, 1928, he was the son of the Late Hoyt and Barbara Laird Somers. He
Worked as a Waterman, was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of The American Legion Post 7, in Annapolis, Md.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Ruarke Somers, two sons Robert William Somers, Jr. of Tyaskin, and Norman Thomas Somers of Churchill, Tenn. Two Daughters, Carole Ann Quillen of Tyaskin, and Lynnette Turner of Quantico. One Step-son Richard Boswell, 13 Grandchildren, and one Great-grandchild, 3 sisters, Anna Mae Abbott of St. Stephens, Savilla Canter, of Princess Anne, Janice Leath of St. Stephens, and two Cousins Clifford Laird, and Dorothy Mae Disharoon,also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his two Brothers, Arnold and Jack Somers, one sister Georgia Lee Clark, one Grand Child Whitney Williams.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday June 23rd. at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole.
