On October 7th. 2013 Carter went home to be with God. He was born on February 22, 1955 in Easton, MD and grew up in Chester, MD. He resided in Deal Island, MD for the past 25 years. He was an avid Jeff Gordon and Washington Redskin fan. He was employed by Tidewater Express in Westover, MD at the time of his death. He loved the Lord, his family, fishing, hunting and joking around. He made everyone around him laugh.
He is survived by his parents William "Bo Bo" Hampton (Mary Esther) and Virginia Patchett Hampton; his wife of 35 years Linda Webster Hampton; his 3 children Mandy (David) Insley, Dawn (Dave) LaPrad, and John Byrd; his grandchildren Spencer, Logan and Paige Insley, Steven and Taylor Dorrell, and Timothy and Cynthia Byrd. He is also survived by his two sisters Lisa and Becky Hampton as well as many special friends, cousins, aunts and uncles and his beloved dog CoCo.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 12th. at 1:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Friends may call two hours prior to the service time. Interment will follow the service in the St. Johns United Methodist Cemetery in Deal Island. Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate.
