Obituary

Wilbur Gordon Nock, 71, of Princess Anne, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his home.

Born on August 9, 1938 in Snow Hill, Md., he was a son of the late Everett E. Nock and Anne Mason Nock.

Mr. Nock had worked as a commercial fisherman and enjoyed woodcarving, rabbit hunting and sailing. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Princess Anne and attended a couple of missionary trips. Wilbur was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Emily Webb Nock; four children, Kathy Sturgis and husband Frank of Princess Anne, Gordon James Nock and his wife Bambi of Princess Anne, Emily Ann Snyder and husband Richard of Camden, DE and Melissa Lynn Anderson and Paul Anderson of Princess Anne; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Everett Nock, Jr. and two sisters, Esther Nicholson and Elizabeth Anne Bowden, all of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday at noon at the First Baptist Church in Princess Anne where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. James DeVaughn will be officiating. Interment will be held in Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
