Weldon Oliver Nelson, Sr. , 85, of Westover died Sunday, Nov. 20th, at Coastal Hospice At the Lake, in Salisbury. Born September 28, 1926, He was a son of the late Weldon and Francis Widdowson Nelson.
He worked as a farmer and as a Supervisor for the Md. State Natural Resources Dept.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Yoder Nelson, a son, Buster Nelson and wife Claudia, of Westover, Two daughters, Diana White of Salisbury, and Jean Thornton and Husband Harlan of Temperanceville, Va., and 3 Step-children, Jerry Racine of Princess Anne, Beattie Banks of Salisbury, and Janie Allen of Salisbury. He had seven Grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Aaron, Mark, Kim, Karen, and Kristin, four Step-Grandchildren, Andy, Amber, Becca, and Rusty,. He is also survived by seven Great-grandchildren and seven Step-Grandchildren, a brother, Teddy Nelson of Westover, two sisters Peggy Maloney of Salisbury and Dorothy Murray of Mt. Vernon, along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in Death was his wife Virginia Bloodworth Nelson, two brothers, Rawlings and Jimmy Nelson, a Sister, Mary Francis Howard and a Son In-Law, William White.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 12:00 PM. at the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne, where Friends may call from 10:00 to 12:00 PM. Rev. Eddie Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow at the Allen United Methodist Cemetery in Allen.
