Salisbury - Victor Hopkins Dryden, known by his family and friends as Vic, went home to heaven on January 19th at the age of 86.
Born in Frostburg, Maryland on January 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Marion C. Dryden and Louise Hopkins Dryden. As a child he and his family moved to Mount Vernon where he spent over 70 years.
Vic was a graduate of Washington High School and afterwards worked at a local bank (Peninsula Bank) in Princess Anne for 30 years and retired as Vice President. He also had a passion for selling automobiles which he did off and on throughout his adult life. He was a charter member of the Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Company and served as first treasurer for several years and a member of the Somerset Ruritan Club where he served as treasurer for many years as well.
He was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon for many years and in later years became a member of Abundant Life Worship Center in Salisbury.
He always loved reading his bible daily and watching church programs on television and he was a true Baltimore Orioles fan.
Vic was a very special person who was loved by all. He cherished all of his family and friends and he especially loved his favorite role as Poppop Vic to Carter and Amiah. He will forever be loved and in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ellen Dryden, stepdaughters Elisabeth Lee Workman and Amanda Rebekah Weber, a grandson Carter Matthew Weber, and a granddaughter Amiah Rose Workman. He is also survived by his brother Marion C. Dryden Jr. and his wife Barbara B. Dryden, nieces Chris Mosberg and her husband Jamie and Ann Rubino and her husband Jerry. He also is survived by loving in-laws and a host of long-time friends.
There will be a service celebrating Vic's life at Abundant Life Worship Center in Salisbury, Maryland on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1:00pm with a visitation from 12:30-1:00 P.M. Pastor Jonathan Willey will officiate. Interment will be private at Wicomico Mem0rial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abundant Life Worship Center, 6070 Hobbs Rd. Salisbury, Maryland 21804.
