Obituary

Princess Anne—Vernon Gale Cooper, 81, of Princess Anne, died Monday Sept 5th, at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne. Born June 13, 1930, in Eau Claire ,Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Verne Cooper and Amy Kolstadt Cooper. Vernon was a retired U. S. Coast Guard Veteran, Owned the former Anderson Marine Hard ware store in Deal Island, and also worked for the State for many years, in various Capacities. He was affiliated with Antioch United Methodist Church in Princess Anne, a member of the American Legion, O.T. Beauchamp Post 94 ,the Fleet Reserve Association, Manokin Gun Club, and 40 & 8 American Legion Club. He was an avid sports fan, loved the Greenbay Packers, and Nascar Driver Mark Martin and Brett Favre, and enjoyed Spending time with his family and Friends.
He is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Stone and Husband Frank of Princess Anne, Gail Evans and husband Roger of Pocomoke, Stephanie James and husband Michael, of Salisbury, and Patricia Bozman and husband Roland, of Princess Anne. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, Brooke Bozman, Roland Bozman and wife Alysen, Michael James, Ryan James, Aimee Evans, Mandy Evans, David Stone and wife Jill, and Karen Scott. Five Great-Grandchildren, Paityn Bozman, Matthew Scott, Luke Scott, Sydney Stone, and Cooper Stone. A Special Sister In-law, Ethel Marriner and two nieces Kathy Harlan and Julie Zorich. Preceding him in death was his wife Juanita Bozman Cooper, and his son Michael P. Cooper. A late sister was Lois Zorich.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, at 11:00 amin the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne, where Friends may call Wednesday evening 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow the service in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne. The Rev. James Doran will officiate.
