Vera L. Matthews,95, of Alva, Florida, formerly of Salisbury, died Friday, December 7th. at the Gulf Coast Medical Center, in Fort Myers Florida. Born July 6, 1917 in Crisfield, MD. she was the daughter of the late Ira F. and Eva Blanche Lawson Peyton.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dreyer of Marion Station, MD. and Barbara Whitney, of Alva, Florida, Six Grandchildren, Debbie Grant, Ronald Whitney, Michelle Wiles, George Dreyer III, Eamon Farrell Matthews, and Addi Rose Ferrell Matthews, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Her Husband, Robert W. Matthews preceded her in death in September of 1997.
A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12th. at 1:00 pm. at the Quinton Cemetery near Pocomoke. Rev. Larry Reid will Officiate.
