Oriole – On July 20, 2021, Tom Brumwell, 85, of Oriole Backroad passed away. He was the beloved son of the late Victor Brumwell and Marguerite Lowery of Tilghman, MD. Two older brothers, Edward Victor Brumwell, Joseph Lowery Brumwell, and a sister Margo, all deceased. A daughter, Joni Ruth also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his friend of 18 years, Betty Warwick of Powellville, a son Thomas C. Jr and his wife Donna also of Monie, a grandson, Thomas (Chris) III of Salisbury and a granddaughter Danielle Waite of Willards, and three great granddaughters, Briley Alexandra, Hailey and Makensie, and one great grandson, Camden David Brumwell.
Tom was an army veteran during the German occupation, and was a long term master carpenter/joiner, waterman, builder, who loved his family and laughter, and always raised a vegetable garden, built model boats and had a great passion for fishing and hunting since he was a small boy in Jacobsville, MD on the Magothy until 1977 when he and his son moved to Somerset County where they made their home. More recently, Tom had moved to Fruitland to live his last happy years with his friend of 18 years, Betty Warwick.
Always a man who stood for what is right and honest; he lived a life without debt to anyone and recently found freedom in the One who paid it all, Jesus Christ.
You are loved and respected by your family Dad! We all have great memories and will miss you dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. 11673 Somerset Ave in Princess Anne, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
