Deal Island – Sylvia J. Anderson, 84, of here passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wenona on March 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Elizabeth (Daniels) Webster. She worked at Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury, MD for a number of years and later, Sylvia retired from the Holly Center in 1998 where she worked as a Direct Care Assistant. She also worked alongside her late husband "George Dewey" and her son and daughters in their family seafood business, Anderson and Son Seafood. She attended St. John's United Methodist Church and loved to travel.
In addition to her parents and her husband, George Dewey Anderson Jr, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Poochie Webster and Mike Webster, and sisters, Bonnie Walters and Shirley White, half-brothers and sisters, Price Webster, Dorothy Thomas, Ladelle Daniels, and Elaine Hubbard.
She is survived by her children, Billy Anderson (Lisa), of Deal Island, MD, Janie Webster (Terry) of Chance, MD, and Beth Bates (Billy) of Princess Anne, MD, 6 grandchildren, Tara Jones (Chris), Melissa Beauchamp (David), Courtney Dryden (Jason), Kristen Thomas (Lance) Kyle Anderson, and Cody Bates, 9 great-grandchildren, Alex Jones, Ella, Kane, & Rose Beauchamp, Trent, Gracie, and Dylan Thomas, and Jason and Jacob Dryden. She is also survived by her brother, Ted Webster (Judy) of Wenona, sister Susie Walters of Salisbury, and brother Dickie Webster (Claudia) of Deal Island, MD, and her beloved dog, J.J.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, MD from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and the funeral service will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2PM at St. John's U.M. Church where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Deal Island. Pastor David Webster will officiate.
