Princess Anne – Sue Bell Ashley, 84, of Princess Anne, MD passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, MD
Born in Saxis, VA on May 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Lena (Ellis) Bell. Sue worked for many years at C & P Telephone Co as an operator. After that, she was a teacher's aide for the Somerset County Board of Education. Sue was a member of Antioch Church in Princess Anne and Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She loved her numerous cats, feeding her hummingbirds and enjoyed growing flowers and plants.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Claude Elmer Ashley in 2018 and Sister, Ann Young.
Sue is survived by her children, Mark Ashley and his wife Lesley of Hebron, MD and Craig Ashley of Parsonsburg, MD, five grandchildren, Luke, Sarah, Ethan, Sofia, and Conner, and step-granddaughter Madison Horner.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at the Rehobeth Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Coventry Parish Rd in Rehobeth, MD. Pastor Steve Willing will officiate.
