Princess Anne – Savilla Sara (Somers) Canter, 91, of here passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Born in Oriole, MD on October 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Barbara (Laird) Somers of Oriole. Her family and her church were the center of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Canter, brothers Arnold Somers, Robert Somers, Linwood Somers, Jack Somers, and sisters Kathren Somers, Anna Marie Abbott, and Georgia Lee Mansfield. She is survived by her sister Janice Leath of St. Stephens, son Albert Reeves of Delaware, daughter Brenda Benton of Deal Island, MD, grandsons Gerald S. Benton, Jr. of Salisbury and David B. Metts, Jr. of Hartley, DE, granddaughters Susan, Marjorie, and Rose Reeves, all of Delaware, great-grandchildren Jeremy Knopf, Brandi Benton, Nathan Metts, Nolan Metts, Emori Metts, many great-great grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Oriole. Gerald Benton will officiate.
