S. Thomas Hall, 86, of Westover passed away on April 19, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.
Born on August 4, 1939, in Oyster, VA, he was the son of the late Donald Lee Hall and the late Fairy L. "Teni" Taylor. He graduated from Northampton High School in Eastville, VA in June of 1957. Originally a resident of Virginia, Tom moved to Pocomoke, City MD in 1961 to pursue a career with Shore Distributors.
In 1965, Tom moved to Revells Neck Road in Westover to become the caretaker of Sam Carpenter’s Clifton Estate. Twelve years later, Tom purchased Marion Ford Well Drilling and changed the name to Somerset Well Drilling. He owned and operated Somerset Well Drilling for many years and considered all of the men and women who worked there family. Tom was President of the company until his death.
Outside of work, Tom was an avid sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and his many hunting dogs. One of his favorite ways to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was hunting, which he taught them with pride. Tom also hunted with several close friends, most notably John Barnette.
Tom was blessed with two loves of his life: his first wife of 30 years, Dorothy C. Hall, and his current wife, Gail V. Hall, of 35 years.
In addition to his wife, Gail, Tom is survived by his children Pamela D. Fitchett and Michael T. Hall and his wife, Kristi; his grandchildren Shelley Seckers and husband Matt, Brandon Fitchett and wife Jessica, Matthew Hall and wife India, Morgan Sneddon and husband Ryan; 4 great-grandchildren Emma, Ava, Thomas, Isabella, and one on the way; one brother, Wayne Hall; two sisters-in-law, Marianne Hall & Joyce Mason; one brother-in-law, Leo Chandler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, Dorothy, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hall; brothers-in-law Charles Chandler, Reade Drummond, & Gene Layne; sisters-in-law Frances Hall, Brenda Chandler, Cackie Layne, & Mary Drummond.
Tom’s family would like to thank Dr. Charles Hofmann and his staff, the many in-home caregivers that made Tom’s final days comfortable, and the entire team at Coastal Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Eddie Daniels and Rev. Tim Shawyer will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westover.
