Ruth Ann Briddell, 62, of Salisbury, passed away at Peninsula Regional Medical Center on Thursday, March 31, 2016, after a short illness. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Betty J. Briddell and the late George R. Briddell, Sr.
Ruth was a graduate of James M. Bennett High School and Salisbury State University. She recently retired as a Social Worker from the Child Protective Services Division of Worcester County, where she was a dedicated employee for 23 years. she had a positive influence on the lives of many in the area through her profession. Ruth made the lives of those around her better with her selfless acts of kindness. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and loved the flowers in her many gardens.
She is survived by her life-long companion of 33 years, Norman "Butch" Shores, who adored her. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Weber and her husband Bill, a niece Julie Duncan (Michael), nephews Josh Weber (Rachel) and George R. Briddell, III, along with many great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, George R. "Bob" Briddell and her niece Katelyn Briddell.
A Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM I at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD. Friends may call one hour prior to the service 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service in the Beechwood Cemetery, in Princess Anne, MD. Rev. Daniel Rich will officiate.
