Robert Barrington Lloyd III passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, September 1st at the age of 46.
Rob was born in Salisbury on May 9, 1970 to Bobby and Janice Lloyd. He graduated from Washington High School in 1988 and from University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a degree in Environmental Science in 1994. During college he worked for Somerset County Mosquito Control and after graduation began working at Americhem Inc. in Salisbury with his best friend Eric McClister. Rob later went to work for Somerset County Soil Conservation, a job that he truly loved for the past 8 years. This past spring Rob reluctantly retired due to his illness. .
Growing up in Princess Anne Rob enjoyed riding his BMX bike, dabbled briefly in break dancing, and as a teenager admired classic cars with his buddies Jimmy Rathkamp, Rob Pinchak, and Tommie Wilson. Rob was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Any free-time was spent outdoors, over the past few years he was usually accompanied by his son, Fisher. They would walk the fields surrounding his family's farm and search for arrowheads, mounting them to hang in his home on the family farm.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Cindy; daughter, Maren; and son, Fisher; a sister and brother in-law, Karen McCabe(Sean); a niece, Marley; a nephew, Jack, his grandmother, Juanita Green; an Uncle, Doug Green; Aunt Bev Riggin(Sonny); an uncle Bruce Lloyd(Melissa); cousins, Liz and Miles; and his miniature dachshund, "Gilley". He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Green; his father, Robert B. Lloyd Jr.; and his mother, Janice Lloyd.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Maren and Fisher Lloyd College Fund (c/o Karen McCabe) for his children at any Hebron Savings Bank.
