Crisfield – Robert William Kaplan, 79, of here passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. He was mostly known to everyone as Bob, Bobby or Pop.
Born in Clinton, MD, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Irene (Kovach) Kaplan. Bob worked as a cook and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He played solitaire constantly and loved to watch sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Pelletier.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thekla "Miss Tekie" Kaplan of Crisfield, MD, children Catherine Kaplan of Lusby, MD, Robert L.("Robbie") Kaplan of Crisfield, MD, and William J. Kaplan (Jenn) of Crisfield, MD, four grandsons, Andrew Washabaugh, Douglas Josh Thomas (Ashley), Stephen Washabaugh (Diana) and Aiden Cole Kaplan, four great grandchildren, Isabella ,Jemma, Trevor, and Maddox Washabaugh, brother Ronald Kaplan (Wilma) of VA, sisters Bette Dodge (Richard) of Clearwater, FL and Brenda Galvin (Craig) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and two very special friends, Denny Bozman and John Townsend.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Crisfield Wesleyan Church, 3065 Lawsonia Rd. in Crisfield, MD. Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate.
