Richard Dulaney Wheatley, 71 died on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at his home here. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late John Dulaney Wheatley and Emily Webster Wheatley. Mr. Wheatley was a Marine Corps Veteran who owned Richard D Wheatley Inc. General Contractors. in Princess Anne.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Wheatley, four children, David Thomas "Tommy" Wheatley and his wife, Deborah of Wenona, Richard Dennis Doyle and his wife Lisa of Seaford, Jennifer McMahon and her husband Gavin of Bluffton, Sc and Nicole Shockley and her husband, Mike of Fruitland, Grandchildren, David Thomas Wheatley, Scott Kemble Wheatley, Faith Benton Wheatley, Justin Benton Wheatley, Hannah Doyle, Dylan McMahon, Luke McMahon, Connor Shockley, Courtney Shockley and Caden Shockley, Greatgrandchildren, Annabelle and Hunter Wheatley. Two brothers, Mike Wheatley and his wife Karen of Princess Anne and Jerry Wheatley of Princess Anne and several nieces and nephews. A late brother was Hugh "Giz" Wheatley.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 29th at 1:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The Rev Eddie Daniels will officiate. Interment will be held in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
