Richard C. Gordy, 84 , died on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his home here. Born on April 28, 1932 in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Walter and Ella Gordy. Mr. Gordy had retired from Tyson Foods where he worked as a broiler supervisor. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member and elder of Olivet Christian Church near Eden.
Mr. Gordy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Gordy, three children, his sons, Rick Gordy and his wife, Sarah of Newark, Md, and Jay Gordy of Salisbury, his daughter, Vicki Bowden and her husband, Bruce of Eden, Three grandsons, Kendrick Gordy and his wife, Autumn of Newark, Md., and Trent and Trevor Bowden of Eden. Also survived by two great-grandsons, Kale and Kade Gordy of Newark and two sisters, Lura Adkins of Snow Hill and Mary Chase of Fruitland. A lete sister was Louise McGrath and a late brother was Paul Gordy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, The Rev. Houston Hill and Bruce Bowden will officiate. Interment will be in Olivet Christian Cemetery near Eden. Contributions may be made to Olivet Christian Church , 1806 Honeywell Road, Snow Hill, Md. 21863 or to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
