Reuben Levin Beauchamp, 91, of Perryhawkin, near Princess Anne, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home. Born on December 11, 1921 in Worcester County, he was the son of late Levin Clayton and Edna (Long) Beauchamp.
Reuben was a lifetime farmer and chicken grower of Somerset County. He was a past board member of the Delmarva Farm Credit, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #94 in Princess Anne and a recipient of the Fulton Green Memorial Award from the Somerset Farm Bureau. Reuben served in the U.S. Army in World War Two from 1944 to 1946 as a member of the 306fn Infantry Regiment of the 77th Division.
He is survived by his six children, Kay Pusey and her husband Ralph of Eden, Jean Bulkeley of Salisbury, Reuben Beauchamp of Princess Anne, Bonnie Rathkamp and her husband Gary of Princess Anne, Janet Hodges and her husband Ron of Salisbury and Rick Beauchamp of Princess Anne. He also had eight grandchildren, Donna (Gary) Wolf, David Pusey, Kelly (Bruce Dashiell) Beauchamp, Reuben A. Beauchamp, John (Rachel) Beauchamp, James (Angela) Rathkamp, Todd Hodges and Stacy Hodges and seven great-grandchildren., Kayla Wolf, Will Dashiell, Luke Beauchamp, Jack Rathkamp, Allison Rathkamp, Emily Rathkamp, and Sarah Rathkamp.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Delsie Riggin Beauchamp and a brother, Joyce Beauchamp.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2pm at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The Rev. Jeff Coalter will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne
