Rebecca Anne "Becky" Dryden, (Riggin) 96 of Salisbury passed away in Crisfield, Maryland, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Born in Crisfield on June 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Sadie Riggin, (Mills). She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Burton Edward Dryden, Sr. who died in 1990.
Burton and Becky lived in Princess Anne, Maryland for 43 years. She is survived by children Burton "Burt" Dryden, Jr. (Regina) of New York City, Dale Dryden (Linda) of Salisbury, and Mark Dryden (Cindy) of Jupiter, Florida, along with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was so proud of her sons and their accomplishments in life and she loved her daughters-in-law and their families very much.
A great pleasure in life was her love of books and the years she spent as an assistant librarian at the Somerset County Library in Princess Anne, MD. In retirement she was a faithful volunteer serving the former PRMC hospital for 18 years and also the Peninsula Eye Center. Her club of choice was the Happy Timers group in Wicomico County, MD. She was a friend to many and was highly regarded for her energy, kind nature, goodwill, faith and devotion.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to an organization of your choice that will provide a direct benefit to the poor and unfortunate.
The MD State Anatomy Board has received her remains to be used for organ donation, research and education. At a later date, upon receipt of her ashes, her sons and their families will have a graveside celebration of her life. She will be interred next to her husband, at Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne, MD. Close family friends will be invited to join.
