Rachel Evans Meyer, 85, of Princess Anne, died on Friday, June 14th. at her home. Born in Bridgeville, Delaware, on June 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. Evans Sr. and Virginia M. Riggin Evans.
Rachel was a homemaker and enjoyed writing poetry, bird watching, and children. She was actively involved and supported the Friendship and Olivet Churches and was a member of the Tony Tank Tribe of the Redmen's Lodge in Fruitland, MD.
She is survived by two daughters, Rachael Alexander, of Princess Anne, and Brenda R. Guido and her husband John of Eden. One sister Betty M. Elkins of West Cliffe, Colorado, three brothers Ralph N. Evans, of Princess Anne, Teddy Evans, of Salisbury, and "Bunky" Evans, of Princess Anne. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her son James R. Meyer II, her siblings, Willis, Roger, Royce, Stanley, Russell, Creston, Louis, Helen, and Shelby, and two grandchildren.
A Graveside Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday June 29th at 11:00 AM, in the Olivet Christian Cemetery near Eden. Rev Howard Travers will officiate.
