Rachel Isabel Luther, 76, of Rehobeth Beach, DE, formerly of Oriole, Md, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE.

Born in Montgomery County, Md. On June 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Duvall and Myrtle Whalen Duvall. Her husband, Sammie Edwin Luther, died June 1, 2007.

She is survived by a son, Rex Luther and his wife Linda, of Millsboro: two daughters, Barbara Ann Childress of Rehobeth Beach and Dawn Hainey and her husband, Ray, of Savage; grandchildren, Wendy Dickey and Dan, Sherri Kenney and Kyle, Heidi Thomas and Craig, Jodi Fochler, Sammie Childress and Shania Andell; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frankie Smallwood of Laurel, MD.

A sister, Betty Reeley, also preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call one hour to the service. Rev. William Kniceley will officiate. Interment will be held Thursday in Mount Carmel United Methodist Cemetery in Sunshine, MD.
