R. Helen Swift
Westover—R. Helen Swift, 101, of Westover and formerly of Baltimore went to be with the Lord
on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009.
Born in Baltimore on Sept. 18, 1908, she was a daughter of the late John E. Smith and May M. L.
Lowe Smith. Her husband, Stanford C. Swift, died July 31, 1967. A son-in-law, Robert J. Daum, Jr.
also preceded her in death.
She had formerly worked in the plant of C & P Telephone Company and was a member of Faith
Bible Church in Ellkridge, Md. and a 50 year member of the O.E.S.
She is survived by her daughter, H. Ruth Daum of Westover; grandchildren, Robert J. Daum, III
and his wife, Anita of Westover, Brian E. Daum, Sr. and his wife, Alicia of Hurlock and Lea Ruth
Reist of York, Pa; eight great-grandchildren, Robert J. Daum, IV and wife Faith, Richard Daum and
wife, Rhonda, Julie Daum Passon and husband, Tony, Bradley Reist and wife, Michelle and Marvin
Reist, Jr. and wife, Alicia, Brian Daum, Jr. and wife, Nicole, Travis Daum and Tyler Rothe; four
great-great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Rebecca Daum, Robert Reist and Cameron Reist.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. at Loudoun Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
