Obituary

SALISBURY-Raymond Ellsworth Hoffman, 92, of Salisbury died at his home on Monday May 9th. Born in Wenona on April 7, 1919, he was the son of the late Carl and Lucy Hoffman.
He worked for the Maryland Natural Resources Police-Marine Division, retiring after 30 years as a Captain. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, a 55 year member of OT Beauchamp Post 94 of the American Legion in Princess Anne and a charter member of The Deal Island Chance Lions Club. Mr. Hoffman attended Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury. He especially enjoyed meeting with his Buddies at Hardees for the Coffee Club every morning.
He is survived by his daughter Vicki Lynn Benton of Salisbury, his brother Carl Hoffman Jr. and wife Ethel of Salisbury and his sister Estelle Noble of Princess Anne His granddaughter Renee Benton Dorsey and Husband Ben, four great-grandchildren Christopher Benton and Rebecca, Nathan, and Leah Dorsey and several nieces and nephews Preceding him in death were his wife, Florence Jones Hoffman, his grandson Paul "Terry" Benton, and his brother in-law Arthur Lee Noble.
A Funeral service will be held Friday May 13th. at 2:00 pm in the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jack Savage will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rock Creek Cemetery in Chance. Memorial Contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice, PO. Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802.
