Phillip Dewey Parks, Sr., 68, of Fairmount, Passed away June 6th., at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his Family. Phil was born in Crisfield, Md. on February 27, 1944. He was the oldest son of the late Dewey and Bernice Parks of Fairmount.
Phil graduated from Washington High School in Princess Anne. He worked for 18 years of service for the Salisbury Postal Service, 13 years at the Eastern Shore Correctional Institution in Westover, and also enjoyed his work as a Waterman. Phil proudly served four years in the United States Navy, and was a member of the American Legion Post 94, in Princess Anne.
Left to cherish his memory are his Loving wife of 46 years, Margaret Waller Parks . He Leaves a son, Kevin George Parks, a grandaughter, Brittany Margaret Battista of Princess Anne. He also leaves five brothers, Johnny Parks of Rumbley, Dewey Parks of Fairmount, Mitchell Parks of Hebron, Kenny Parks of Fairmount, and Danny Parks of Princess Anne.
Preceding him in death were a daughter, Dawn Michelle Parks Battista and a son Phillip Dewey Parks, Jr.
A funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, June 11th. at 2:00 PM., at the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne. Friends may call one hour prior to the service time. Rev. Danny Travers will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, in Mount Vernon.
