Phillip Jesse Doyle
Princess Anne—Phillip Jesse Doyle, 89, of Manokin Manor Nursing Center in Princess Anne, died
on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009.
Born in Galax, Va., in 1920, he was the son of the late Charlie Miller Doyle and Bertie Mae Price
Doyle.
Mr. Doyle was a retired employee of the Maryland State Roads Commission, where he served as
an equipment operator. For many years, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church in
Princess Anne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Virginia Ashley Doyle. He is the last surviving
member from a family of 13 children.
He is survived by six sons, Jim and his wife, Joanne, Lloyd and his wife, Rosann, Robert and his
wife, Patsy and Elbert, all of Salisbury, Floyd and his wife, Peggy of La Plata, Md. and David and his
wife, Cathy of Newark, Del; a daughter and her husband, Joyce and Ray Mays of Havre de Grace,
Md. He had 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne,
where friends may call one hour to the service. Interment will be held in Beechwood Cemetery in
Princess Anne.
