Peggy Bloodsworth Ford, 87, of Princess Anne, Maryland passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025. Peggy was born to Norwood and Attress Bloodsworth on July 10, 1937.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Harry T. Ford Sr.; her son Harry T. Ford Jr.; her parents Norwood and Attress Bloodsworth; her brother James "Woody" Bloodsworth; and her sisters Ruth Colburn and Anne Gibbons. She is survived by her siblings Carl Bloodsworth (Karen), Carolyn Merrill (Sidney), and Shirley Anderson (William), along with several nieces and nephews.
Peggy graduated from Washington High School in 1956. She pursued a career in financial administration. She worked at Benjamin's Department Store as a bookkeeper. She devoted 43 years of her life to Somerset County, working for the Somerset County Commissioners and Somerset County Roads Department.
Peggy was passionate about doing for others. She enjoyed doing needlework, creating many pieces for family and friends. She loved cooking and enjoyed serving her dishes to others. She will forever be remembered for her applesauce raisin cakes, sweet potato fluff, stewed tomatoes, and 7 layer Jell-O salad.
Peggy was a caring and lovable woman who, throughout her lifetime, devoted herself to her church, Allen Asbury United Methodist Church and the Allen Lion's Club. She was an integral part of the church congregation, serving as a member of the United Methodist Women. As a member of the church, Peggy participated in the Annual Church Bazaar and Vacation Bible School. Peggy was a loyal servant to God. As a supporter of the Allen Lions Club, she enjoyed preparing meals for the club meetings and was involved with the Annual Pit Beef Dinner.
Peggy Ford's funeral services will be held at Hinman Funeral Home on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 1PM. A viewing will be held from 12PM to 1PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Peggy Ford's name to Allen Asbury United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 123, Allen, Maryland 21810 and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
