Paul T. Benton, III, 75, of Chance, MD passed on August 2, 2021 at Coastal Hospice on the Lake surrounded by his family. He was born on September 24, 1945 in Salisbury, MD to the late Paul Benton, Jr, and the late Mary Daniels Benton Tyler. He is survived by his daughters Renee Dorsey (Ben) of Elkridge, MD and Zoe Benton. Paul is also survived by siblings Richard Benton (Cathy), of Fort Myers, FL, Gerald Benton (Brenda) of Deal Island, MD, Mark Benton (Gail) of Eden, MD, and Cindy Swift (Billy Gene) of Crisfield, MD. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Benton, Rebecca Dorsey, Nathan Dorsey, Leah Dorsey, and Brantley Hall as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his son, Paul "Terry" Benton, IV, and his wife, Charlotte Shores Benton.
He grew up in Wenona, MD working with his father on the skipjack, Geneva Mae. After retiring from many years with Delmarva Power, he returned to the water as a charter boat captain. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sat, Aug 14 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Wenona, MD. Visitation will begin at 1 pm with service starting at 2 pm.
