Perryhawkin: Nellie E. Marriner, 102' of here died Friday, Aug. 19th at her home . Born in the Dublin area near Perryhawkin she was the daughter of the late Mary Ross Taylor and John E. Taylor. Her husband, Elton W. Marriner, preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Nellie was a Homemaker, and a faithful member of the Perryhawkin Christian Church for many years. She was recognized by the Maryland Centenarian Committee as a Centenarian (those reaching 100 years Old or Older) in 2008.
She is survived by her daughter Bettie Marriner Long of Princess Anne, and a Son "Marcus" Bill Butler of Princess Anne. She was "Mom Mom Marriner" to Melvin and Patricia Green and family, Robyn and Walter Donaway, Lee and Zack Donaway, Becky and Lewis Jones, and Hanna Jones . She is also survived by Several nieces and nephews, and a close friend William J. Bundick, of Modestown, Va. Preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Oakley Taylor, Eunice Bishop, Susie Ferrell, Grace Spide, Norris Taylor, and Louis Taylor. A late grandson was Barry Long who died in 1974 and a late son-in-law was Robert Long who died 1n 1995.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday Aug. 23rd at 2:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The Rev. Jeff Coalter will officiate. Interment will be held following the service in the Perryhawkin Christian Church Cemetery.
