Nellie Mae Laird Bozman, 87, originally of Oriole, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne.
Born in Oriole on July 14, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Byrl Bennett Laird. Her husband, Herman J. Bozman, Sr. and a son, H. Ray Bozman, both died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Isabelle and Hobson Burton and sister-in-law, Thelma Laird.
Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She also enjoyed working and did so part time until 3 years ago. She had formally worked for the Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury and Mr. Earl Warwick in Princess Anne. Nellie was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in Oriole.
She is survived by son, Herman J. Bozman, Jr. and his wife Myrna W. Bozman of Princess Anne; daughter-in-law, Rachel R Bozman of Fruitland; granddaughter, Julie B. Lankford, her husband Hunter and their children, Sarah and Conner of St. Petersburg, Fl; granddaughter Jill B. Stone, her husband David and their children, Sydney and Cooper of Princess Anne; granddaughter Amy Bozman of Fruitland; a brother, Clifford "Sonny" Laird; several nieces and nephews and special cousin, Hazel Turkington and her husband Bill of Fruitland.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 2pm at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. William Kniceley will officiate. Interment will be held in St. Peters United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole.
