Michael A. Jones, 65, of Deal Island, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
Born on February 26, 1951 in Bristol, England, he was the son of the late Harvey A. and Dorothy Griffin Jones.
Mike graduated from Washington High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a waterman for over 40 years and a master carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lana Price Jones, a son, Christopher Michael Jones and his wife Tara of Chance, a grandson, "Pop Pop's Boy" – Alex Jones, a sister, Karen Webster (Conrad) of Tucson, Az., and niece Taylor Cochoran of California.
Mike was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Deal Island, an honorary member of the Deal Island Fire Dept. and a member of the O.T. Beauchamp Post 94.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Deal Island at 2PM where friends may call 1 hour before the service. Reverend David Webster will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
