Maurice Ward Jr. 84 of here died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Born on December 12, 1928 in Princess Anne, he was the son of the late Morris Ward and Minnie Ingersoll Ward. Mr. Ward was a Korean War Army veteran and had retired as an assistant Manager after 42 years of service with A&P Grocery Stores. He was a charter Member of Walker Memorial Church of God in Princess Anne. He is survived by his wife of 61 years , Marion Essex Ward, a son: Michael A. Ward, Sr. of Salisbury, two daughters, Elaine Chapman of Seaford and Darlene Bedsworth of Princess Anne, 6 Grandchildren, 7 Greatgrandchildren , two sisters, Lorraine Meredith of Frenchtown and Marian Price of Salisbury as well as several nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4th at 1:30 PM at the Walker Memorial Church of God in Princess Anne where friends may call one hour prior to service time. The Rev. Tim Shawyer will officiate. Interment will be held in Allen Cemetery in Allen.
