Princess Anne – Matthew Devin Nielsen, "Matt", 38 years old of Princess Anne, MD was born November 21, 1982, the son of Bobbi Murray (Johnny) and Bunky Nielsen (Nancy). On January 27, 2021 Matt was called home to be with the Lord.
Matt was a high school graduate who enjoyed working several different jobs such as helping on his family's farm, painting like his Pop Pop Gilbert, and as a short order cook.
His passion in life was hunting, fishing, family and friends and good food was evident to all. Matt loved animals and being outdoors. He was a natural athlete at any sport, but thoroughly enjoyed playing soccer, football, basketball and baseball. Matt also liked to draw and was musically talented playing both the drums and guitar.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gilbert and Ana Mae Abbott and Dorothy Murray of Princess Anne, MD and John and Hellen Nielsen of Salisbury, MD, as well as his Uncles Larry Schrader and Skip Logan, Cousin Shane Abbott, all of Princess Anne, MD.
He is survived by his parents, Bobbi Murray (Johnny) of Princess Anne, MD and Bunky Nielsen (Nancy) of Mardela Springs, MD, his brother and sister, Jamie Lekites (Kim), Jenna Murray (Mark Fetzer), all of Princess Anne, MD and Amber Nielsen of Ocean City, MD, nieces and nephews, Wyatt Lekites, Dale Fetzer, Rallee Evans, Bristol Evans, and Karson Lekites, all of Princess Anne, MD. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Debbie Schrader, Barbara Logan, Richard Murray, and Lisa Ford (Darin) all of Princess Anne, MD and Bev Webb (Bill) and Tim Nielsen (Sue) all of Salisbury, MD and Betsy Nielsen Triglia (Tony) of Merritt Island, FL as well as several cousins.
A celebration of Matt's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, MD with a viewing from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Oriole, MD.
