M. Wallace Dashiell
PRINCESS ANNE—M. Wallace Dashiell, 86, of Princess Anne died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at
Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury after a short illness.
He was the son of the late Millard Dashiell and Ethel Dashiell Lawson and step-father, Edgar
Lawson.
Wallace enjoyed fishing, softball, playing keno and spending time with his family. He retired from
the Dept. of Natural Resources as captain, was a former town mayor, deputy sheriff, court bailiff,
employee of Somerset County Liquor Dispensary and was a member of the Princess Anne Lions
Club.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dashiell; son, Larry Thomas and wife, Donna, all of Princess
Anne; grandsons, Lance Thomas of Princess Anne and Matthew Thomas of Pa.; sister, Norma Lee
Phillips and husband, Larry of Salisbury; nephews, Bert Dashiell, Bryan Phillips, Daniel Phillips and a
niece, Diane Bradley and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Norris and Barnes Dashiell
A funeral service be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, where
friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tim Shawyer will be officiating. Interment will
be held in St. Andrews Episcopal Cemetery located behind the Manokin Presbyterian Church in
Princess Anne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, PO Box 1733,
Salisbury, Md 21802.
