Louise M. Long, 70, of Champ, near Princess Anne, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in New York on November 28, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Wells and Arlene Zahneiser Wells.
Louise was a chicken farmer and attended St. Peters United Methodist Church in Oriole. She loved to travel, work in the garden with flowers and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Elwood B. Long of Champ; three daughters, Peggy Bedsworth and husband Jerry "Bip" Bedsworth , Beverly Jo Long and husband Willy Long and Janice Elias and husband Paul , all of Princess Anne; grandchildren, Hank Bedsworth, Eric Bedsworth, Jesse Bedsworth, Nicki Powell, Michael Powell, Billy Long, Ira "PJ" Elias, Pam Elias and Sam Elias; one great-grandchild, Jason Townsend; two sisters, Edith Short of Mardela and Margie Cool of Harrington, DE; two brothers, Fred Wells of Mardela and Ned Wells of Laurel, DE and several nieces and nephews.
A late sister was Edna Dorrell.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2pm at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Friends may call Saturday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm and on Sunday one hour prior to the service. Rev. William Kniceley will be officiating. Interment will be held in St. Peters United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole.
