Kenneth Wayne "Spike" Larkin, 77, of Princess Anne, formerly of Hagerstown,Maryland. Died on August 8, 2015. He was born on November 19,1937 in Hagerstown. He was the son of the late charles Larkin and Larue Settles Donaruk.
He was educated in Washington county Public Schools and received his Diploma in the United States Navy. He retired in 1990 from the Maryland Department of Corrections after 23 years of service. He worked at Maryland Correctional Institute (MCI) and Eastern Correctional Institute (ECI). He was a life member of Maryland Classified Employees Association (MCEA} and he continued to be an advocate for Maryland State Employees after retirement by working for the union. He and wife Lelia were proprietors of L&K Deli in Hagerstown, and Spike's Pub and Subs in Princess Anne.
Mr. Larkin was an avid golfer and a member at Winter Quarters Golf Course in Pocomoke, die hard Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins fan. He was a member of Redmen Tony Tank Tribe NO. 149. of Fruitland
In addition to his wife of 32 years Lelia Stevenson Fratianni, he is survived by five children; Brett Fratianni, Kenneth Larkin Jr & Beth Givens, Denise Benner & Robin Kennedy, Teresa & Brian Delosier and Mike & Becky Larkin. Special Friends, Bobby & Bonnie Wells,adopted granddaughters Jessica & Sarah Wells; and his dog Rusty. Nine grand children: Jennifer Wagner, Candice Hockman, Beth Imler, Sherri & Terry Winters, Michael,Sydney, and Morgan Larkin, Brittany and Bethany Delosier. Six great grand- children: Corey Garland & Briella Wagner, Jaxson Winters,Hayden Loewendick, Trey and Hope Thornton
He also loved the many little feet of Lil's Little Angel's.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Pauline Kaiser Larkin, sister, Michele Stevens, granddaughter, Megan Larkin and son in law Todd Boward.
Family will receive friends 6pm -8pm ,Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Hinman Funeral Home , 11673 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, MD 21853 .
Additional services will be scheduled and held in Hagerstown, MD later on in the week.
