June Pusey Gourley, 91, of Princess Anne, Md. passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Somerset Gardens near Princess Anne.
June was born in Salisbury on June 6, 1925 to the late Curtis C. and Vera Mae Baker Pusey. She retired as a supervisor for the Maryland Dept. of Assessments and Taxation with over 32 years of service. June was a life time member of the First Baptist Church in Princess Anne. She served as past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 94 with 67 years of service to that organization. Other memberships included Somerset County Women's Civic Club, AARP, and the Tuesday Morning Women's Coffee Club.
She is survived by her son, William J. Croak, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Mount Vernon, granddaughter Erin Wiggins of Hebron, a step-daughter, Irene Kenton­­­ of Woodside, De. 3 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Layton W. Gourley (1995), a sister, Margaret Curran, brothers Curtis Pusey, Franklin Pusey, Elwood Pusey, Walter Pusey, Joseph Pusey and a half-sister, Elsie Revell.
A funeral service will be held at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Md. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Reverend Jamie DeVaughn will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
