Salisbury - Joseph Barry "Joe" Klempner, Jr., 60, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home.

Born on April 11, 1964, and raised in Princess Anne, he was the son of the late Joseph "Barry" Klempner, Sr. and Patsy Records Sterling.

He was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1982 and attended the University of MD Eastern Shore.  He worked in hospitality with The Harrison Group at the Holiday Inn on 17th Street in Ocean City.

A talented musician, Joe played in several local bands performing in numerous area venues.  He was an avid bass player and over the years also played drums, saxophone and trumpet.  He also was a DJ for many years, hosted trivia at the Salisbury Elks Lodge, and enjoyed golfing when he was able.

"Joe Daddy" will be remembered for his love of life and his ability to make people laugh.

He is survived by his wife of almost 12 years, Barbara Sneade Klempner; daughters, Ashley and Amy Mason; granddaughter, Abby Beach; nieces, Blair Newell and husband Will and Kaitlyn Nibblett; his best friends since birth, Bo and Teague McShane and Jimmy Hillman and several other nieces and nephews; and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Mabel Records; and two sisters, Ellen Klempner-Trader and Karen Klempner Benner.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1 PM at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where a visitation will be from 11am – 1pm.  Rev. Steve Willing will officiate. Urn interment will be at a later date in Beechwood Cemetery.
