Deal Island – Jerry Taylor, 79, died on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Born in Baltimore, MD he was a son of the late Elmer and Alphonza Taylor. He was preceded in death by his sister Florence Miller and brother Jimmy Taylor, both of Deal Island.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Brenda Taylor and his five children, Michelle McColligan (Rob) of Arizona, Jerry Taylor, Jr (Stephanie) of Pocomoke, MD, Lisa Taylor of Arizona, Amy Landon (Henry) of Crisfield, MD, and Jill Benton (Delmas) of Pocomoke, MD. He is also survived by a brother, Brian Taylor of Stewart, VA and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was an Army Veteran and retired from Dresser Wayne of Salisbury. He loved his family very much and enjoyed getting together for "cookouts and crab feasts" throughout the summer. Jerry played the drums in a band during his earlier years. Once retired, he enjoyed sailing in the Laws Thorofare. Jerry will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave, Princess Anne, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Donnie Bailey will officiate.
