Chance - Jasper Harold Johnson, born December 15, 1947, passed away at McCready Nursing home on January 10, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ilamae Johnson, and his sister Lyndia Sullivan. He is survived by his wife Beatrice Shores-Johnson of Chance, Md, and his 3 children, Jordan Park Johnson, Mamie Jo Johnson, and Jonathan Matthew Johnson, and the love of his life, his granddaughter Gabby.
He is also survived by four loving sisters, Darlene Isom-Fields of Morristown, Tennessee, Peggy Young of Baltimore, Md, Marlene Hubley of Pennsylvania and Arlene Airey and husband Jeff of Federalsburg, Md as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He graduated high school in Ellicott City, Md, and enlisted in the Army. After serving 3 years in Germany, he returned home and worked as a postal carrier in Columbia, Md.
In 1979, he married Beatrice Shores-Johnson of Chance, Md, and relocated to the Eastern Shore, where he continued his career as a postal carrier in Salisbury, Md until his retirement in 2016.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 14th, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of God of Prophecy, Chance, Md. Dinner will follow at the Youth Center for family and friends.
