Obituary

James "Jimmy" V. White, 78, of Delmar, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, while on hospice care at Serenity Senior Living in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Born in Baltimore City on April 17, 1947, Jimmy was the son of the late Jim and Pearl White of Princess Anne, Maryland. He attended Washington High School in Princess Anne before proudly serving in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1966–1969.

Jimmy loved life and had a gift for making every room brighter. With his fun-loving nature, sharp wit, and unforgettable sense of humor, he was without question the life of the party. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand.

A skilled carpenter, Jimmy spent his early career traveling across the United States building Pizza Hut restaurants. Over the years he worked with various companies before ultimately finding his greatest success and joy in being self‑employed. His craftsmanship can still be found in homes and businesses throughout the region.

At home, Jimmy could often be found outdoors, enjoying the peace of nature and watching the birds and squirrels. He was an avid golfer who loved playing anywhere, but especially cherished time spent at TK's Back Nine with his friends. He also loved to travel, always choosing the scenic route through mountain views and winding country roads.

Of all the things Jimmy enjoyed, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He held immeasurable pride in his sister and brother, forever his partners in crime, along with the cousin's crew. He was mostly in his element when surrounded by his children and grandchildren, creating memories they will hold close forever.

Jimmy is survived by his loving children, Jeremy White (Maureen) of Palm Harbor, FL, and Jayme Lyn Riegler (Steve) of Virginia Beach, VA, and by his beloved grandchildren, Anna, Emma, and Xavier. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, his sister, Mattie Dryden (Rolan Waters) of Princess Anne, and his brother, Larry White (Paula) of Deal Island along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

To all who helped care for Jimmy in the past few years—thank you. Your kindness, dedication, patience, and support brought comfort during his most difficult days, and it meant more to him and to our family than words can express.

Jimmy was a kind and joyful soul, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
