James N. Ring Sr., 87, of Westover died on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. Mr. Ring was born at home in Somerset County on December 25,1928 to the late John J. and Helen Widdowson Ring. Mr. Ring better known as "Jimmy" was a life time resident of Somerset County. He was a farmer, served as County Commissioner for six terms, and was very dedicated to serving Somerset County. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Princess Anne and was involved in numerous civic organizations.
"Jimmy" is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Webster Ring, his children Patty Parkinson and her husband Bruce of Westover, James N. Ring Jr and his wife Deborah of Westover, six grandchildren, Chrissy Webster, Bruce Webster Mandy McVay and Mike McVay, Danielle Ring, and Lauren Parkinson, two great-grandchildren, Braden and Ellie. and several nieces and nephews. Late brothers and sisters were John Franklin Ring, Mary Jean Tilghman and and Emma Joyce White
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Princess Anne at 2:00 PM. Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.. Interment will follow the service in the Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne. Rev. Jamie DeVaughn will officiate.
