Princess Anne - James Joseph Leahy, Jr., 73, of here passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. after a lengthy illness.
Born in Virginia on April 1, 1944, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Virginia (Holbert) Leahy. James was a Navy veteran and retired as a Supervisor Facilities Management Specialist for the NSA. His favorite past time was participating in Civil War re-enactments. He was instrumental in resurrecting St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Westover, Md. where he was a member. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders and conducted safety classes for the organization.
He is survived by his wife Sandra of Princess Anne and two sons, Shawn Leahy of Princess Anne and Jeremy Leahy of Annapolis, sisters Marion Bayles of Lewis, DE., and Joan Kover of Scottsdale, AR and a brother, Paul Leahy of Stewartstown, PA.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 8734 Old Westover Marion Rd in Westover, Md. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Gardens of the Pines Church, 11227 Racetrack Rd. in Berlin, Md.
