IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacob Earl
“Jake” Malone
June 18, 2014
Jacob Earl "Jake" Malone passed away on June 18, 2014, at his home with his beloved wife Sue at his side. Born in Allen, he was the youngest son of the late Frank and Lida Malone.
He worked at many jobs including, J. Roland Dashiell & Sons Construction, Carl J. Williams & Sons Construction, and was a poultry grower for Perdue, Inc. from 1964 until April, 2008. But his favorite "job" was their farm and garden. He always enjoyed growing enough tomatoes, string beans, lima beans & beets to share with everyone. He also enjoyed building wooden projects and many people had the good fortune of receiving Bible boxes, foot stools, tables, TV cabinets, and anything else that he decided to build.
"Jake" was a charter member of the Allen Lions Club, a founding member of the Allen Volunteer Fire company, and a member of the Allen United Methodist Church. He believed in giving back to the community and worked very hard at any project that needed to be completed for the good of the village.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Susan Renshaw Malone, children Rebecca McElhone and her husband Harry, and Buddy Malone and his wife Barbara; grandchildren, Tom McElhone, Joe Bailey, Bobby Bailey, Debbie Bailey Fields; great-grandchildren, Taylor Wright, Tyler, Reagan & Edyn Bailey, Craig & Alexis Bailey, Kayla & Bailey Fields; and great-great granddaughter Sophia Wright. He also leaves behind many devoted nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard "Pete" Malone, William "Slim" Malone, and his sister, Olive Malone Fields.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne, Maryland. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service in the Allen Cemetery. Friends may also visit and share a meal with the family after the service at the Allen Community Hall.
