Jabez "Ting" Webster, 77, of Deal Island, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his home.

Born on March 17, 1932 in Deal Island, he was a son of the late Jabez Webster and Molllie Abbott Webster.

Mr. Webster was a founding member and previous chief of the Deal Island/Chance Fire Dept and had worked as a waterman. Beloved by many, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by a son and his wife, Anthony and Debra Webster of Deal Island; a daughter, Donna Lynn Webster of North Carolina; grandchildren, Carrie Day and husband, Dennis, of Deal Island, Wayne "Jr" Rosetta of North Carolina, Anthony Webster, Jr. of Deal Island, Michael Rosetta and wife, Lyndi, of Mt. Vernon, and Brandon "Scottie" Rosetta of North Carolina; six great grandchildren, Alissa, Mariana, Nicholas, Ryan, Shawn and Elliott; one beloved sister, Norma Monthley of Taneytown.

Preceding him in death was his devoted wife of 45 years, Mary; three children, Jabez III, Beverly Ann and George David, a brother, Earl Webster and a sister, Lillian Somers.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2pm at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Deal Island where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Revs. Lloyd Foard and Rev. Linwood "Sonny" Benton will be officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
