PRINCESS ANNE- Irene Higgins, 77, of here, died Tuesday January, 25 at her home in Princess Anne. Born August 30.1933 in Banner North Carolina. Prior to living in Princess Anne, she lived in Fords, N.J. for 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Norwood and Bernice Gibson Norwood. Irene was a member of the Nanticoke Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a professional seamstress, specializing in doll restoration and repair, she was also the founder of Dolly Heaven
Irene is survived by three children, John Richard Higgins Jr. of Princess Anne, Carol Pero of N.J., and Deborah Higgins of PA., one beloved granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Pero of NJ., two sisters, Mary Krum of Allen, and June Scott of Tenn., one brother Lewis Norwood of Tenn., two close cousins, Helen Emerick and William Gibson of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Richard Higgins Sr. and her brother Hoyt Norwood.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday the 28th. at 12:00 PM. at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. The Interment will be held Jan. the 29th. at the St. James Cemetery, in Woodbridge, NJ.
