Obituary

Howard "Shelley" Handy, 61, of Salisbury, MD., departed this life Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home, after a brief illness. "Shelley" as he was affectionately known, was born January, 29, 1954 and was the son of the late Howard and Neudie Handy, of Chance MD.
Shelley was educated in the Somerset County Public School System, where he graduated from Somerset Jr. High School. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve from 1978 - 1979. Formerly employed by Campbell Soup Co. and Peninsula Roofing in Salisbury, Md. and B & D Seafood in Dames Quarter, MD.
Shelley was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church, in Chance MD. and a "Lead Singer" in the "Infamous Gospel Group" "Ist. Step", which he was known for "Ringing Those Bells", lovingly formed by family members.
Shelley was preceded in death by one son, Edward Pickens.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife and "best friend," Dawn L. Handy, of Salisbury, MD., Two Daughters, Mekisha Handy of Jessup, MD. and Kistine White Baxley of Jersey City, NJ., Two sons, Shally Handy and Aaron Handy, of Salisbury, MD., Two step-daughters, Yasmin Jones and Whitney Jones of Salisbury MD., One brother, Mark Wright of Chance,
MD., Ten grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves a devoted friend Greg Dunn, whom he called "brother".
One of Shelley's greatest passions was music. He loved to sing and play his guitar. One of his favorite past times was playing with his grandchildren and "Rubee". His favorite saying was "Don't Let It Worry You". He was a Loving and Peaceful Man. He tirelessly gave his love, support and time to his family and friends. Always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his family unconditionally.
His love and devotion to his wife, whom he shared an enduring bond shall indeed outlive his passing. He would always say " I Finally Found The One." Shelley will be deeply missed and his voice will forever "Ring" in the hearts of family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 1:00PM., with a viewing one hour prior to the service at St. Charles United Methodist Church, Chance Md.
In lieu of flowers , a donation in his memory may be made to Coastal Hospice , PO. box 1733, Salisbury, MD. 21802.
