Henry "Shad" Gladstone Edwards, Jr. died Monday June 30, 2014 at Hartley Hall in Pocomoke City, Born in Salisbury August 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Henry Gladstone Edwards, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Edwards. Henry attended State Normal School now Salisbury University, St. Andrews at Middletown, Delaware, Randolph Macon Academy, Front Royal, Va and graduated from Randolph Macon College, in Ashland , Va. He also graduated from Perdue University with a Degree and worked as a Packaging Engineer and in sales. After retiring, he was Charter Boat "Capt. Shad", taking fishing parties on the "Little Mike" in Wenona, MD. "Shad" enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and had a special Love of dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Edwards, two daughters Pam Kurka and her husband Brad of Pocomoke City and Karen Edwards Hayes and friend Pete Ferebee of Tappahannock, Va. Also surviving are A brother in law, Joe Lipscomb from Ormand Beach, Florida and niece Melissa (Mica) Pollitt Bright of Allen, MD.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Henry "Bo" Gladstone Edwards III, a sister, Elizabeth "Winxie" Edwards Pollitt Whitney, a brother in law, Robert Lipscomb and a sister in law Patricia Lipscomb.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Rev. Sonny Benton will Officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at their home at 7357 Puncheon Landing Road, Pocomoke, MD.
